Recall 17V330000

Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer › Lpg Systems — Columbia · reported 19 May 2017 · 40 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Columbia Northwest, Inc. (Columbia Northwest) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Aliner Ascape trailers. The trailers have liquid propane (LP) gas bottle trays that come loose from the frames due to the wrong rivets being used to attach the LP tray to the frame.

The risk

The LP gas bottles may fall from the trailer during travel, increasing the risk of a crash or a fire.

The fix

Columbia Northwest will notify owners, and dealers will secure the trays with the correct hardware, free of charge. The recall began on June 27, 2017. Owners may contact Columbia Northwest customer service at 1-724-237-5227.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
