Recall 17V334000

Equipment — Road Rescue · reported 23 May 2017 · 24 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc. (REV) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Road Rescue Type I, 2013-2016 Road Rescue Type III, and 2014-2017 Road Rescue Type IX emergency vehicles equipped with a 2" subfloor. The bolts used to install the cot securing system to the floor may be too short.

The risk

In the event of a crash, the cot may not remain secured, possibly causing injury to the vehicle occupants.

The fix

REV will notify owners, and dealers will provide the correct replacement hardware for the affected units, free of charge. The recall began on July 20, 2017. Owners may contact REV customer service at 1-800-628-8178.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
