Fuel System, Diesel — Kme · reported 28 Jun 2017 · 1 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. (KME) is recalling one 2017 Predator Tanker truck equipped with a Cummins ISX 15L engine. The affected engine has a fuel pump whose drive gear may slip on its drive shaft, causing a fuel pump function loss, resulting in an engine stall.

The risk

An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Cummins will send a notice to the owner of the vehicle with the affected engine and a Cummins dealer will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began on August 7, 2017. Owners may contact Cummins customer service at 1-800-286-6467 or KME customer service at 1-800-235-3926.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
