Exterior Lighting › Brake Lights — Kawasaki · reported 11 Jul 2017 · 1,837 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (Kawasaki) is recalling certain 2017 Versys-X 300 motorcycles. A loose tail/brake light socket may allow the bulb to fall out.

The risk

Without a working tail/brake light, there is an increased risk of a crash.

The fix

Kawasaki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tail/brake light socket, free of charge. The recall began on July 31, 2017. Owners may contact Kawasaki customer service at 1-866-802-9381.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
