Equipment › Other › Labels — Keystone · reported 19 Dec 2017 · 12 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2018 Hideout recreational trailers, model 310. The Federal Placard on these vehicles incorrectly lists the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) as 5,080 lbs and the tire size as ST225/75R15D with 65 PSI, when the correct GAWR is 5,200 lbs and the correct tire size is ST225/75R15E with 80 PSI. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

The risk

The incorrect label information may cause the operator to underinflate the tires, possibly resulting in their failure and an increased risk of a crash.

The fix

Keystone has notified owners and provided a corrected Federal Placard, free of charge. The recall began on December 27, 2017. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 17-310.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
