Recall 18V060000

Equipment — Wayfarer · reported 22 Jan 2018 · 24 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Wayfarer is recalling certain 2017 24 QW recreational vehicles, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. The risk

In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

The fix

Wayfarer will notify owners, and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on March 7, 2018. Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
