Electrical System — Ic Bus · reported 20 Feb 2018 · 2 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2018 IC bus CE transit buses equipped with 8.8L liquid propane gas (LPG) engines. The LPDM relay for the propane booster pump and the scavenge pump may intermittently fail, causing the fuel pump to stop.

The risk

If the fuel pump stops, the bus will stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the LPDM relay, free of charge. The recall began on April 12, 2018. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 18502.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
