Tires › Temporary/emergency Spare Tire — Forest River · reported 19 Mar 2018 · 71 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2018 No Boundaries recreational trailers, models NBT10.5 and NBT10.6. The spare tire mount may not be strong enough and the spare tire may detach from the trailer.

The risk

If the spare tire detaches from the vehicle, it may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will replace the spare tire mount, free of charge. The recall began on April 25, 2018. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-1612. Forest River's number for this recall is 77-0662.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
