Recall 18V225000 · manufacturer campaign SB 463

Visibility › Glass, Side/rear — Mci · reported 9 Apr 2018 · 640 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is recalling certain 2018 MCI J4500 motor coaches. The rear left hand window may separate from the vehicle.

The risk

If the left rear window separates from the vehicle while it is moving, it can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of crash or injury.

The fix

MCI will notify owners, and dealers will check the rear left hand window to make sure that it is securely installed, correcting it as necessary, free of charge. MCI issued owners an interim notification on June 8, 2018. The recall began on August 24, 2018. Owners may contact MCI customer service at 1-800-241-2947. MCI's number for this recall is SB 463.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
