Fuel System, Gasoline › Storage › Tank Assembly › Filler Pipe And Cap — Ducati · reported 16 Apr 2018 · 692 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain 2018 Ducati Panigale V4, Panigale V4 S, and Panigale V4 Speciale motorcycles. Fuel may spray out of the gas tank when the tank cap is opened.

The risk

If fuel spills out of the tank when it is opened, it can increase the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.

The fix

Ducati will notify owners, and dealers will rework the fuel tank cap to improve the fuel tank's breathing capacity, free of charge. The recall began on May 21, 2018. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
