Recall 18V500000 · manufacturer campaign 17D-0805

Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer › Lpg Systems — Forest River · reported 30 Jul 2018 · 156 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup recreational trailers, models CKTR15SW-D, CKTR16BHS-D, CKTR16FQ-D, CKTR18RJB-D and CKTR18TO-D. These trailers have single propane bottle brackets with two mounting legs that may break at the mounting point.

The risk

If the LP bracket ring bracket breaks, the propane cylinder may detach from the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

The fix

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will replace the LP bottle ring bracket, free of charge. The recall began August 17, 2018. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100. Forest River's number for this recall is 17D-0805.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
