Recall 18V520000 · manufacturer campaign SN665

Equipment — Terex · reported 7 Aug 2018 · 101 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Terex south Dakota, Inc. (Terex) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Terex C4000, C5000, C6000, and General digger derricks. The welds between the coupler and hex shaft may be undersized, causing them to fail and the auger to fall unexpectedly.

The risk

If the auger falls, it can increase the risk of injury to the user or bystanders.

The fix

Terex will notify owners, and dealers will either repair the weld or replace the affected component, free of charge. The recall began October 3, 2018. Owners may contact Terex customer service at 1-605-882-4000. Terex's number for this recall is SN665.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
