Recall 18V637000 · manufacturer campaign 900014
Equipment › Electrical — Grand Design · reported 14 Sep 2018 · 53 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Grand Design RV (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2019 Grand Design Reflection travel trailers, model 295RL. The outside 110V outlet was not correctly wired to a ground-fault (GFI) protected circuit.
The risk
In the event of an electrical issue with an appliance or component that is plugged into the outside electrical outlet, an electrical shock may result, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix
Grand Design will notify owners, and dealers will install a new correctly wired ground fault receptacle, free of charge. The recall began October 8, 2018. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 900014.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
