Recall 18V653000

Electrical System › Ignition — Dennis Eagle · reported 21 Sep 2018 · 5 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Dennis Eagle Inc. (Dennis Eagle) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Dennis Eagle Elite garbage trucks. The ignition barrels on these vehicles may have been improperly secured, allowing the housing to rotate freely and ignition wiring to become detached, possibly resulting in a stall.

The risk

A vehicle stall can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dennis Eagle will notify owners, and dealers will install a metal anti-rotation ring to keep the ignition barrel secured, free of charge. The recall began October 2, 2018. Owners may contact Dennis Eagle customer service at 1-813-440-8136.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
