Recall 18V693000 · manufacturer campaign CSN 693

Equipment — Altec · reported 4 Oct 2018 · 208 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2017 Altec AT37, AT41 and AT48 aerial devices. The hydraulic line protective hose sock may have been incorrectly installed through the insulating section of the lower boom.

The risk

The incorrectly installed protective hose sock can cause the potential for electrical continuity through the lower boom, increasing the risk of an electrical shock.

The fix

Altec will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the hydraulic hose bundle on the articulating arm and remove any hose sock in the insulated section, free of charge. The recall began November 14, 2018. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 693.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
