Recall 18V745000 · manufacturer campaign CSN 700

Electrical System › Software — Altec · reported 22 Oct 2018 · 175 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Altec Industries (Altec) is recalling certain 2014-2018 DHH and DHB Digger Derrick vehicles. The Zone Rating System may not alert the operator that the load being handled exceeds the rated load for the unit's specific position.

The risk

Without an alert, there is a greater risk of unit instability or a loss of load control, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix

Altec will notify owners and dealers will update the Zone Rating System software, free of charge. The recall began December 12, 2018. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 700.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
