Recall 18V757000 · manufacturer campaign MAB 701
Structure — Altec · reported 26 Oct 2018 · 46 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2018 Altec DM45, DM47B, DC45 and DC47 Digger Derricks and TA50 and TA60 Aerial Devices. The high strength fasteners used to secure the pedestal to the turn table may fail.
The risk
If the fasteners fail, the pedestal may separate from the turn table, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix
Altec has notified owners, and dealers will inspect the fasteners, replacing them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began October 26, 2018. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is MAB 701.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
