Electrical System › Wiring — Grand Design · reported 30 Oct 2018 · 1,765 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Grand Design RV, LLC is recalling certain 2018-2019 Reflection fifth wheel trailers, models 28BH and 29RS. The circuit for the power converter does not have over-current protection.
The risk
An electrical short circuit in the unprotected circuit can increase the risk of a fire.
The fix
Grand Design RV will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the trailers to determine if the 50-amp mini breaker at the bus bar is installed correctly and that the circuit is wired correctly, correcting it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began November 19, 2018. Owners may contact Grand Design RV customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design RV's number for this recall is 910017.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
