Recall 18V832000

Electrical System › Wiring › Fuses And Circuit Breakers — Airstream · reported 26 Nov 2018 · 31 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2019 Airstream Interstate 19 motorhomes. 150 amp fuses may have been used for the coach battery fuses instead of 100 amp fuses, potentially allowing the battery cables to be overloaded.

The risk

Overloaded battery cables may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

The fix

Airstream will notify owners, and dealers will remove the 150 amp fuses and install 100 amp fuses, free of charges. The recall began January 8, 2019. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111, extensions 7401 or 7411.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
