Recall 18V843000 · manufacturer campaign 18-340

Power Train › Axle Hubs — Dutchmen, Keystone · reported 28 Nov 2018 · 982 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2019 Keystone Cougar, Outback, Passport, Springdale, Bullet and Hideout recreational trailers and 2019 Dutchmen Aerolite and Atlas recreational trailers. The inner hub bearings of the axles may not have been sufficiently greased, which can cause the bearings to overheat and fail.

The risk

If the bearings overheat, the hub may fail, affecting handling and increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the hubs and bearings, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began January 16, 2019. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 18-340.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
