Recall 18V853000 · manufacturer campaign 19-342
Suspension › Rear › Axle › Spindle — Keystone · reported 30 Nov 2018 · 169 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2019 Keystone Montana recreational trailers. The axles may have defective welds on the spindles, potentially resulting in a spindle and wheel assembly detaching from the axle.
The risk
If the spindle or wheel assembly detaches from the axle, it can affect vehicle handling and increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the axle tag, replacing it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began January 14, 2019. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 18-342.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
