Electrical System › Wiring › Fuses And Circuit Breakers — Jayco Fifth Wheel · reported 5 Mar 2019 · 1,660 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2019 Jayco North Point and Pinnacle fifth wheel trailers equipped with Carefree Altitude Series awnings. The awning circuit incorrectly has a 15amp fuse instead of a 5amp one.

The risk

In the event of a short circuit, the incorrect fuse can increase the risk of a fire.

The fix

Jayco has notified owners, and dealers will replace the 15amp fuse with a 5amp fuse, free of charge. The recall began on March 22, 2019. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901428.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
