Recall 19V209000 · manufacturer campaign SC0418

Exterior Lighting — Mack · reported 18 Mar 2019 · 43 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2020 Anthem and Pinnacle trucks. The conspicuity reflectors at the back of the cab may be blocked by the exhaust system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc. Equipment."

The risk

If the reflectors are blocked, the vehicle's visibility to other drivers may be reduced, increasing the risk of crash.

The fix

Mack has notified owners, and dealers will install additional reflectors on the back of the cab, free of charge. The recall began April 10, 2019. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0418.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
