Recall 19V305000
Exterior Lighting › Brake Lights — Spencer · reported 17 Apr 2019 · 12 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Spencer Manufacturing, Inc. is recalling certain 2017 TM-3000 (1426), TM-1000 (1427) and TM-1000 (1428) Fire Trucks, 2018 WS-3900 (1429), SM-2000 (1430), WS-2000 (1431), Rescue (1440), Grass Rig (1443) and SM-1000 (1444) Fire Trucks, and 2019 TM-1000 (1434), TM-1000 (1433), and TM-1000 (1432) Fire Trucks, equipped with Whelen accessory brake lights. Depending on the specific wiring of the vehicle, these brake lights may illuminate when the brake pedal has not been pressed.
The risk
If the brake lights incorrectly illuminate, it can confuse other drivers, possibly increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Spencer will notify owners, and Whelen will replace the brake lights, free of charge. The recall began June 3, 2019. Owners may contact Whelen customer service at 1-860-718-2331 or Spencer Manufacturing at 1-269-637-9459.

Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
