Electrical System › Wiring — Forest River · reported 19 Apr 2019 · 10 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019 Rockwood and Flagstaff recreational trailers. The wiring for the front bedroom air conditioning may have been improperly installed and may come in contact with the heat strip in the air conditioner.

The risk

If the wiring harness contacts the heat strip, the sheathing may melt, increasing the risk of fire.

The fix

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will secure the air conditioner wiring harness away from the heat strip, free of charge. The recall began on May 6, 2019. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-8943. Forest River's number for this recall is 10C-1001.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
