Recall 19V409000 · manufacturer campaign CSN 720

Equipment — Altec · reported 4 Jun 2019 · 435 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2016-2019 LR7 Series Aerial Devices. The aerial device can be operated without the rear outriggers being deployed, which may cause the unit to be unstable.

The risk

An unstable aerial device may suddenly collapse, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix

Altec will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles and correct them to require the proper outrigger operation, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began July 25, 2019. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 720.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
