Recall 19V454000 · manufacturer campaign 78-1032

Engine — Forest River · reported 17 Jun 2019 · 2 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Berkshire Coach Ultra UL1912 and UL1913 motorhomes. Water and contaminants may get into the block heater cable's splice connector causing corrosion and damage.

The risk

When the heater is plugged in, prolonged corrosion could cause a resistive short, increasing the risk of overheated or melted wiring which can increase the risk of a fire.

The fix

Forest River will notify owners, and Ford dealers will disable the vehicle's engine block heater cable, free of charge. The recall began June 27, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Forest River's number for this recall is 78-1032.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
