Recall 19V455000 · manufacturer campaign CSN 722

Equipment — Altec · reported 17 Jun 2019 · 542 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2017-2018 LR7, TA50/55/60 and L42/45 Aerial Devices. Multiple fasteners used to secure the rotation bearing may break, possibly resulting in the pedestal separating from the turntable.

The risk

If the pedestal separates from the turntable, it can increase the risk of injury or death.

The fix

Altec will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected fasteners, free of charge. The recall began July 31, 2019. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 722.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
