Recall 19V464000

Exterior Lighting › Brake Lights — International · reported 18 Jun 2019 · 1 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Farber Specialty Vehicles (Farber) is recalling certain 2018 International 4300 SBA vehicles equipped with Whelen brake lights. Depending on the specific wiring of the vehicle, these brake lights may illuminate when the brake pedal has not been pressed.

The risk

If the brake lights incorrectly illuminate, it can confuse other drivers, possibly increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Farber will notify owners, and Whelen will remedy the lights, free of charge. The recall began January 24, 2020. Owners may contact Whelen customer service at 1-860-718-2331 or Farber at 1-800-331-3188.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
