Recall 19V517000 · manufacturer campaign 19-357

Service Brakes, Electric — Crossroads · reported 10 Jul 2019 · 485 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2020 Crossroads Hampton and Sunset recreational trailers. The breakaway switch may have been incorrectly wired, which can cause the trailer brakes to not function in the event of a trailer separation from the tow vehicle.

The risk

If the trailer detaches from the tow vehicle, the breakaway switch may not activate the brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will rewire the breakaway switch, free of charge. The recall began July 29, 2019. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 19-357.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
