Recall 19V562000

Air Bags — Pierce · reported 31 Jul 2019 · 174 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2019 Arrow XT, Dash, Enforcer, Impel, Quantum, and Velocity vehicles. Due to improper manufacturing, the passenger-side knee air bag (KAB) may not properly inflate during a deployment event.

The risk

In the event of a crash, if the KAB does not inflate properly, it may not provide the intended protection to the occupant, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix

Pierce will notify owners, and dealers will replace the KAB assembly, free of charge. The recall began October 9, 2019. Owners may contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
