Recall 19V650000 · manufacturer campaign 19-360

Structure › Emergency › Escape/egress/exit — Keystone · reported 11 Sep 2019 · 18 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2020 Cougar 30RKD trailers. The 60"x29" emergency exit windows over the dinette table in the cabin are missing a red handle and "EXIT" label.

The risk

If an emergency event occurs, trailer occupants may not be aware of the emergency exit function of the window, increasing the risk of an injury.

The fix

Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will replace the existing black exit handles with red handles and add an "EXIT" label, free of charge. The recall began October 9, 2019. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 19-360.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
