Recall 19V803000 · manufacturer campaign FL-837

Service Brakes, Air › Disc › Chamber — Freightliner · reported 7 Nov 2019 · 4 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2020 Freightliner Cascadia vehicles. Due to inadequate clearance between the brake chambers and the frame rail, the brake chambers can contact the frame rail and cause brake chamber to detach or be damaged.

The risk

A detached brake chamber can cause reduced brake effectiveness, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

DTNA reports that all affected vehicles have been remedied, therefore owner notifications will not be sent. The recall began on November 7, 2019. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-837.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
