Recall 19V895000 · manufacturer campaign SC0421

Exterior Lighting › Headlights — Mack · reported 16 Dec 2019 · 1,879 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2019-2020 TerraPro (TE) vehicles. The headlamps may not be properly aimed, possibly reducing the driver's visibility. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The risk

Reduced visibility can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Mack will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and readjust the headlamps, free of charge. The recall began January 24, 2020. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0421.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
