Recall 19V916000 · manufacturer campaign FL-842
Equipment — Fccc · reported 23 Dec 2019 · 1,852 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2020 FCC MT45G vehicles equipped with Ioxus 12V uSTART MD battery support modules. The uSTART module electronics can short circuit internally, causing the vehicle's battery to fully discharge into the uSTART module.
The risk
A short circuit in the uStart module can increase the risk of a fire.
The fix
DTNA will notify owners, and dealers remove the uSTART and replace it with an equivalent battery, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin February 17, 2020. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-842.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
