What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2020 Shockwave Toyhauler SHT18FS-CA trailers. The Federal Placard indicates the incorrect tire pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

The risk

The incorrect tire pressure can cause a loss of vehicle control or premature tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Forest River will notify owners and will provide a corrected Federal Placard, free of charge. The recall began January 20, 2020. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-909-873-3777. Forest River's number for this recall is 19-1126.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
