Recall 20V021000 · manufacturer campaign WT20191031

Trailer Hitches — Multiquip · reported 16 Jan 2020 · 119 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Multiquip, Inc. (Multiquip) is recalling certain 2019 WT5C trailers. The connection points for the safety chain are incorrect.

The risk

The incorrect attachment points may result in the safety chains being too short, possibly interfering with steerability of the tow vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Multiquip will notify owners, and dealers will relocate the mounting position of safety chains, free of charge. The recall began January 24, 2020. Owners may contact Multiquip customer service at 1-800-421-1244. Multiquip's number for this recall is WT20191031.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
