Recall 20V028000

Service Brakes, Hydraulic › Power Assist › Hydraulic › Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings — Lion · reported 21 Jan 2020 · 37 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Lion Electric Company (Lion) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Lion C electric school buses. During a sudden braking and change of direction combination, a decrease in the hydraulic system pressure can occur, causing a loss of power steering and power braking.

The risk

The loss of power steering and power braking increases the risk of a crash.

The fix

Lion will notify owners, and dealers will replace the hydraulic pressure relief valves, free of charge. The recall began February 4, 2020. Owners may contact Lion customer service at 1-855-546-6706.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
