Structure › Emergency › Escape/egress/exit — Forest River · reported 10 Feb 2020 · 20 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2020 Crusader CSF395BHL recreational trailers. The rear ladder may block the window on the rear wall, preventing the window from being used as an emergency exit.

The risk

If the rear window cannot be used to exit the vehicle during an emergency, there would be an increased risk of injury.

The fix

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear window, free of charge. The recall began March 3, 2020. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-862-1025. Forest River's number for this recall is 49-1137.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
