Recall 20V170000 · manufacturer campaign HTB2012
Fuel System, Gasoline › Delivery › Fuel Pump — Husqvarna · reported 19 Mar 2020 · 1,500 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
KTM North America, Inc. (KTM) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Husqvarna 701 Svartpilen and 2018-2020 Husqvarna 701 Vitpilen motorcycles. Fuel may leak from the fuel level sensor and fuel pump mounting area.
The risk
A fuel leak can increase the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source, and increase the risk of damage or injury.
The fix
KTM will notify owners, and Husqvarna Motorcycle Dealers will replace the affected fuel tank, install new gaskets, and update software for proper fuel calibration, free of charge. Owners will be notified to take their motorcycles to a Husqvarna Motorcycle North America, Inc. (HMNA) dealership for repairs. The recall began July 7, 2020. Owners may contact HMNA customer service at 1-888-985-6090. HMNA's number for this recall is HTB2012.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
