Seat Belts › Front › Webbing — Mercedes-benz · reported 21 Apr 2020 · 6 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2020 E450 Coupe vehicles. The front left seatbelt may be improperly installed, potentially allowing the seatbelt to contact sharp metal components and damage the seatbelt webbing.

The risk

A damaged seatbelt may not properly restrain an occupant, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

The fix

MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and reroute the front left seatbelt as necessary, or replace it if the webbing is damaged, free of charge. The recall began May 22,2020. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2020050001.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
