Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer › Lpg Systems › Furnace — Palomino · reported 26 Jun 2020 · 9 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2021 Palomino Columbus recreational trailers, models CMF389FL, CMF389FLC and CMF389FLW. As built, the furnace vents under the rear slide out room, allowing exhaust fumes to re-enter the trailer through the slide-out room seals.

The risk

Exhaust fumes that enter the unit through the slide seals may result in carbon monoxide poisoning or death.

The fix

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will remedy the location of the furnace vent. This recall began July 28, 2020. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-821-1487. Forest River's number for this recall is 410-1187.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
