Service Brakes — Thomas Built Buses · reported 28 Jul 2020 · 1,713 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC. (DTNA) is recalling certain 2021 Saf-T-Liner C2 School Buses. The adjustable brake pedal arm may rotate from its original location due to an incorrect fit between the pedal adjustment tube and the upper brake arm casting.

The risk

A brake pedal that rotates out of position increases the risk of a crash.

The fix

DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will install a new brake pedal assembly, free of charge. DTNA issued owners an interim notification on September 22, 2020. The recall began February 17, 2021. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-857.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
