Parking Brake — Autocar · reported 31 Jul 2020 · 1,086 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Xpeditor trucks with a right-hand drive cab configuration equipped with a park brake valve (button) located to the right of the steering wheel. The parking brake synchronization valve plumbing may be improperly assembled, causing the parking brake to apply unexpectedly without warning.

The risk

Unexpected parking brake application can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Autocar will notify owners, and dealers will correct the plumbing to allow the system to operate as designed. The recall began September 28, 2020. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 or 1-877-973-3488. Autocar's number for this recall is ACX-2004.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
