Recall 20V478000

Vehicle Speed Control — Cruise Car · reported 13 Aug 2020 · 27 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Cruise Car, Inc. is recalling certain 2020 Moke low-speed vehicles. The vehicles may be able exceed the 40km/h maximum permissible speed to be classified as a low-speed vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 500, "Low Speed Vehicles."

The risk

A low speed vehicle than can exceed 40 km/h, increases the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

The fix

Cruise Car will notify owners, and dealers will calibrate the vehicle's maximum speed, free of charge. The recall began September 9, 2020. Owners may contact Cruise Car customer service at 1-941-929-1630.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
