Recall 20V569000 · manufacturer campaign 005G
Fuel System, Gasoline › Delivery › Fuel Pump — Genesis · reported 21 Sep 2020 · 319 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021 Genesis G70 vehicles equipped with 2.0L GDI engines. The fuel pump's jet nozzle may have a plastic burr remaining from the manufacturing process, possibly causing a blocked nozzle and an insufficient fuel supply to the engine.
The risk
Insufficient fuel supply can result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the fuel pump assembly jet nozzle, free of charge. The recall began November 10, 2020. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 005G.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
