Recall 20V606000 · manufacturer campaign 20-388
Tires — Keystone · reported 2 Oct 2020 · 10 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2020 Hideout 290LHS recreational trailers. These vehicles were incorrectly built with 3500 pound axles and ST205/75R14D tires and rims rather than the 4400 pound axles and ST225/75R15D tires and rims as specified on the Federal Identification Tag.
The risk
The incorrect axle, tires and rims can result in the operator overloading the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect axle, tires, and rims with 4400 pound axles, ST225/75R15D tires and matching rims, free of charge. The recall began October 16, 2020. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 20-388.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
