Recall 20V616000

Latches/locks/linkages › Doors › Latch — Road Rescue · reported 6 Oct 2020 · 11 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc. (REV) is recalling certain 2019 Road Rescue Type I ambulances. Incorrect material was used for the trip levers used in the rotary latches possibly preventing the doors from being able to be opened.

The risk

Failure of the rotary latch to function could potentially cause a lock-in or lock-out situation, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix

REV will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rotary latches and cable brackets, free of charge. The recall began October 28, 2020. Owners may contact REV customer service at 1-855-661-9232.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
