Seat Belts › Rear/other — Land Rover · reported 17 Dec 2020 · 13 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Range Rover Evoque vehicles equipped with a replacement part for the right and/or left-side outer second-row seat belt assembly. These seat belt assemblies may not function properly in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

The risk

Seat belts that do not function properly can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

The fix

Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the right and/or left-side outer second-row seat belt assemblies and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began February 25, 2021. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N523.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
