Seats — Mercedes-benz · reported 23 Feb 2021 · 4 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2021 Mercedes-Benz Metris vehicles equipped with an adjustable front passenger seat. The front passenger seat frame base may not have been welded properly.

The risk

An improperly welded seat frame base may have reduced stability, which can increase the risk of injury to the occupant in a crash.

The fix

DVUSA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seat frame base, free of charge. DVUSA issued owners an interim notification on May 6, 2021. The recall began May 13, 2021. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267. DVUSA's number for this recall is VS2SITZNAT.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
